Suryakumar Yadav reaches new career-high rating in ICC T20I batting rankings

World No.1 T20I batsman Suryakumar Yadav has achieved a new career high in the ICC Men's T20I Batting Rankings. The Indian middle-order batsman scored 910 after hitting a quick-fire 47 during the first match of the ongoing series against New Zealand. His compound knock of 26 not out in the second game took him to 908 rating points. However, Suryakumar has an opportunity to improve his points in the third and deciding 3rd T20I in Ahmedabad.

India will take on New Zealand in the deciding match of the three-match T20I series on Wednesday, February 1. Suryakumar is within striking distance of England's Dawid Malan to achieve the all-time highest rating for a men's T20I batsman. Malan scored 915 points in 2020 and Suryakumar now holds the second highest all-time rating.

Meanwhile, New Zealand players have moved up in the latest batsmen and bowlers rankings. Finn Allen jumped eight places to 19th in the batsmen's list, while Daryl Mitchell moved up nine places to 29th after his unbeaten half-century in the first match against India. Mitchell Santner jumped two places to ninth in the bowlers' rankings and 23rd in the all-rounders' rankings.

In the ODI rankings, England fast bowler Jofra Archer has returned to 35th place after a successful comeback against South Africa. Meanwhile, Temba Bavuma improved on his tally with a century-ending 49th in the second match. Bavum's teammate Rassie van der Dussen's rating points improved from 766 to 795 after he scored a hundred in the first ODI against England.
